RELIGIONS OF ANCIENT EGYPT: ANALYSIS OF THE MODERN CONVENTIONAL HISTORICAL CONCEPT

Religion has always been, and remains, a major element of political power and state systems in much of the world. At the same time, religion maintains a combined relationship with both society and political authority, as it may depend on the will and beliefs of individuals and society, while simultaneously influencing them. Likewise, it may be shaped by state authority and, in turn, influence the actions of the state.

Understanding this relationship is essential to shaping a vision of a country’s political system and development prospects.

In the study of religion as a socio-political phenomenon particular attention should be paid to specific historical examples of the volatility, variability and flexibility of religion, religious traditions, and their perception by societies and individuals. These processes result from the interaction of different cultures, political systems, and religious beliefs.

One example of such religious transformations is the religion of Ancient Egypt, whose society and cultural traditions evolved over more than three thousand years and significantly influenced the cultural development of Ancient Greek and Roman civilizations.

The aim of the study is to identify and analyze the factors that contributed to the formation of a highly developed religious worldview in Ancient Egypt.
